To echo what everyone else is saying.. I placed an order dec 1 and after 2 weeks of not receiving I wrote into customer service. Chase “helped” me by saying due to covid shipping times were backed up but rest assured I’d receive before Christmas. I wrote in again last week and received no response. Got through to someone via social media (after I saw multiple comments on their page citing the same issue I was having), and again was assured I’d have my order before Christmas. I pointed out that they were marketing “order now and receive by Christmas” well after I ordered. The rep told me they used USPS on all orders before dec 15 and UPS on all orders after December 15. How.. does that make any sense? Essentially penalizing those who ordered early. Like everyone else I received a note from the founder/CEO again assuring a before Christmas delivery. Well.. it’s Christmas Eve and I still don’t have my order! What a BS company. I understand it’s an especially busy year but just own up to it and don’t market free and fast shipping.
I ordered a month ago and still have not received my items. I was fine when they said there are slight delays but this is ridiculous.
I wish I saw these reviews first I never would have wasted my money or my time with them.
I just want a refund for my non order...

I waited 4 weeks for the first item only to be sadly disappointed
Terrible customer service. No one answers the phone. Placed an order weeks ago for some t-shirts for an upcoming vacation. Shirts never arrived. multiple calls to the CS go unanswered. So I email for status and explain I have not received the order which was ordered in plenty of time for receipt for my trip. At this point I've purchased other options and ask that the order be cancelled and refunded. Instead they ignore my request and re-ship out my order weeks late when I've already explained I won't be home to receive the package at this point. Multiple calls and emails asking that the re-shipment be cancelled and could I just receive a credit for my order - all ignored. If you have ZERO customer service, than dont expect happy customers. Wont ever order again and will be calling my credit card company for a refund.
A few years ago my wife and I agreed we needed to start moving away from mindless consumerism, which has multiple negative consequences such as draining your bank account and stuffing the world's landfills with disposable products. We decided we wanted to pay a bit more for well-made products that do one thing, do it well, and last for a long time. Initially this felt like abandoning my frugal nature, but in fact it is much *more* frugal in the long run. We're far from perfect and we still buy junk once in a while, but we have found a few companies that hold these values of quality, durability, simplicity, environmental stewardship, etc.
Back in 2015, my favorite hoodie--a staple in my jeans-and-tee-shirt style wardrobe--was disintegrating, so I started poking around the internet for a new one. I found the 2012 Slate article about American Giant and "the greatest hoodie ever made," so I started reading the AG website and watching some videos. Their manufacturing facilities and cotton suppliers are in the US. They treat their workers and suppliers well. They give a very generous 20% military discount (thanks, AG!). They concentrate on making simple, durable items that don't end up in the landfill after 1 year. I decided to take a chance on the XXL Classic Full Zip Hoodie in "iron" (dark gray).
Right out of the box you could see and feel the quality. The cotton was thicker, the metal zipper was sturdy, the metal thingies at the ends of the hood's drawstring were solid and not going anywhere, the hood itself was large and fit easily over my oversized head, etc. Initially I would say that the material was a bit stiff, but I suppose that's to be expected from thicker material, and it softened after a few washes. Also, the XXL was slightly tight on me, but that's not AG's fault. I'm 6'2" and at the time I was around 270 lbs., if that helps you decide on size. I've lost some weight since then and now the fit is fantastic. (Also, if you're a former lineman like me, they now offer XXXL in a few colors.) One other slight drawback: a few parts of the hoodie faded early on with the use of a stain remover (probably Zout, but I can't say for sure). I didn't test it on an inconspicuous part of the garment first. That's my bad. It has not faded much from 5+ years of general washing, just that stain remover. I do not know if their dye formula or dying process has changed at all in the past 5-6 years, so this may or may not happen on new garments. Just be careful with stain removers.
I've worn this thing hundreds of times in the past 5 years and I love it. I practically live in it for three seasons of the year. What prompted me to write this 5-star review more than 5 years after getting this hoodie was, ironically, that it broke. I was out shoveling the driveway the other day when the zipper pull and retaining box (I had to look that one up) fell off. I found the pull, but the retaining box is gone forever. I went to the AG website to see if I could order some zipper parts and fix it myself. After all, this hoodie still has years of life left in it. I noticed that AG offers a lifetime warranty, so I wrote them asking if they could send me some zipper parts (that was my only request). Leslie wrote back 2 business days later and told me that they do not offer repair services or parts, but that they would send me an entirely new $118 hoodie. Wow! I was not expecting that at all. I opted for the $118 store credit code, which does not expire, so I can take a little time to figure out what I want to order.
So the product has been great and the warranty service was even better. I'm going to take my current hoodie to my tailor and have her fix the zipper so it won't end up in the landfill with years of life left in it. I'll have two of these bad boys! Thanks, AG!
I purchased two AG classic full zips about 2 years ago and was pretty happy with the quality. The material was thick and although I couldn't roll up the sleeves because it was stiff, I've gotten used to it as they have kept me warm in cold days. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I thought I'd buy another color to add to my collection. I ordered the storm zip which was supposed to be warmer. Guess what. I received it today and was shocked at how much the quality has declined. The hoodie feels like cheap $25 hoodie that you buy at Uniqlo. The thing is I would happily pay $25 for Uniqlo hoodie knowing what to expect. However, AG charged me $100 on a $25 hoodie! Since I bought it on sale (only 10% off original price, mind you), I'm stuck with it. I feel duped, bait and switch. I am shocked and disappointed at the lack of quality and integrity by AG. I will not shop with them again.
I purchased some items from AG as Xmas gifts and my niece wanted to exchange for a different size. Their customer service was great. AG does not do exchanges but rather a return/reorder. The problem was that I had purchased the hoodies using a 15% coupon and because I ordered 2 hoodies for 2 different nieces, I received free shipping. I contacted CS and told them that I didn't want to pay shipping (for 1 hoodie) and lose the "first time customer" 15% discount because I have to reorder the hoodie in a different size. CS was so helpful. They gave me my 15% and free shipping. My nieces loved the hoodies so much that I waited until they were on sale and bought the heavy weight hoodie and the water repellent hoodie for myself. The sales staff at the AG store were great! I bought both sale hoodies there and a 3rd hoodie for my niece (on sale) and they shipped it to her free. I'm now trolling the AG site for more sales because they have great products!
Multiple horrible experiences. My father purchased me a button up shirt from them for Christmas. I had that same shirt in another color, and it washed horribly. Terrible shirt. When I received that present, I told my dad about how the same shirt in the other color washed so he was fine with me exchanging it or returning it. He couldn't find his order email, so I contacted American-Giant and told them the story. I also said that I understood if it was past the return window. They said it was fine to exchange for store credit only. They sent me a label. I sent it back and did not hear anything for AGES. It was marked as received by them, and I got no notice of a credit for weeks. I sent emails to both their regular and urgent email addresses. They turned their phone line off. How convenient. Another person here mentioned Hailey, I got her at first too and she abandoned me pretty quickly. Finally, somebody responded and gave me a credit after a month. I used the credit immediately to place an order. It STILL is not here. The tracking hasn't moved since last week, just that it is awaiting USPS. This is so ridiculous. Worst shipping ever. I have bought many things from them over the years, but will no longer be a customer of theirs. Some of their products are great, but some are just pure trash. The fit is all over the place across the range of products too. No consistency. So ridiculous. This company has gone to the trash.
I purchased a $100.00 gift certificate for my daughter for Christmas. She received a $25.00 gift certificate showing a charge to an account which I do not have. Obviously, they screwed up the order. I have written them at least 7 times and have received nothing but banal, stupid email responses. I have requested a refund to my charge account but I now need to start a charge back on the account. I have tried to call them but that went nowhere. Don't give these people any of your money.
Horrible customer service. This company sells really well designed and quality products, but you will not get that same level of consideration from their customer service. Hailey, the customer service rep who I'm not even sure is a real human given the generic response I received, should not be employed anywhere let alone in a customer service position. I bought my mother a hoodie for christmas that turned out not to fit her. All I wanted was to replace it (and gladly pay the difference) of one that does. They said it was a sale item and could not be returned or exchanged. They offered me a discount on a fully priced item, but that discount is that same amount you would get just by giving them your email on the website. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with any brand.

I just want a refund for my non order...
Slightly overdue praise for my black hoodie. A hail mary purchase made a few months ago. Unlike some of the reviews here I experienced no delays in shipping. The fit and heavy material of this thing is spot on. Plenty of room under the hood part, the lack of which has been a major annoyance in other similar articles of clothing. Easily one of the best and most expensive basic black hoodies I've ever worn. Go figure.
Products are ok but customer service is horrible. They literally turned off their phones and answering machine because too many people were calling them. If you buy a gift card for someone don't be surprised if everything they want is sold out in their size and of course no refunds on gift cards. No indication of when if ever some items will come back into stock. The quality is not at all remarkable when considering the price and the hassle. I'd give it zero stars if that was an option.
